As a new blogger I am over the moon to have been noticed and nominated by the amazing BlogsbyJ (https://blogbyj.life) Check out her blog, the way she writes is so precious and honest! Her blogs are really heartfelt on various topics, my recent reads that I liked were “Character” and “Centre Stage”. I really relate to so much she writes and I can guarantee you that you will too!

Here are the Rules:

• Make a post of the award (with a photo)

• Post the rules

• Ask 5-10 questions of your choice

• Nominate 10-30 other bloggers

My Responses to J’s Questions

1. Are you an introvert or extrovert?

I would honestly describe myself as both! I love my own space and have mastered kicking it alone so much that no one can really disturb my peace BUT I also love to get together with friends and family and really look forward to the next party! Where I usually am the life and soul haha. So much for being modest eh? So I had gone through a phase where my diary was completely packed and the social events had become so much that I was becoming drained- but I handled it. It’s not enough to break me. And even through this lockdown where there isn’t any socializing, I am still finding myself ever so bombarded with phone calls so much that I even took long to finish this post! But still it wasn’t enough to break me! I love that I am quite adaptable to both scenarios and enjoy being the person I am! Thanks for this question because I never really took time to think about it and actually take credit for myself

2. What was your motivation to become a blogger?

So I have enjoyed writing ever since I was a child, whether it had been stories, my diary or just my thoughts. I have things I have written from years ago so during quarantine I thought to myself let me just put them out there into the world. I used it as a form of expression because I found instead of venting to someone, I ended up writing it all down and then actually coming to a beautiful conclusion that I just ended up helping myself and learning. I found it hard at first because writing about a lot of feelings and then putting it out, you almost feel so exposed but I found and learnt that there is so much strength in vulnerability. Now I am enjoying it and I realized how much commitment you really need to put into it so it makes me feel proud to look back on what I wrote.

3. What is your goal for 2020?

How much of 2020 do we even have left?! Right now the goal is to get ready for 2021! To be honest, I just want to save save save! I have managed to save so much money without even realizing and that’s because I haven’t been ordering food, cut down on social events so not spending on alcohol! And haven’t been buying clothes online! Just makes such a difference so I hope to carry on as I’ve started. And then the next goal is to travel more. My next destination is Thailand after another quick trip to Amsterdam again!

4. What are three words that best describe you?

Ok so I have had to ask a couple people for their opinions and the reoccurring words have been “funny”, “wise” and “selfless” which is probably the nicest combination that I could’ve ever wished to become. The only one I would selfishly admit to would be that I am funny. I enjoy making people laugh. As for wise, I have found myself attracting very strange circumstances and found myself in the position of giving a lot of people advice and I think that’s when the selfless aspect comes in because I usually am the one giving advice and going out of my way for others. So I’m told, I just enjoy helping others.

5. What is your best piece of advice about life?

The best piece of advice I could give anyone would be to seek help when you are stuck. Don’t push people away, be open to getting help from others, especially when you don’t have it, find it, search for it. Whether it be the advice, from people, professionals, getting an output like gym, something creative, just anything that will change that negative feeling into a positive. It won’t always be easy or quick but little steps is better than none. By changing your mood, you enable yourself to not fall into a depressive state. You must roll with the punches, go with the flow and get over anger and hurt as quick as YOU can. When I was going through a bad time, I felt I had no one to tell me the best way out or advise me on what way to go. And now I look back, I actually did, I just didn’t utilities it and that would be a lingering regret but I don’t let it get me down too much. I just move on and do what I can to get me through my day. Because I have understood that there is nothing greater than me, no problem is bigger than me and nothing can hold me back but myself so I need to become the best possible version of myself to help myself yet be ok with getting help from others!

I really enjoyed writing this post and thanks again for the nomination! This was such a good thing

  1. I am very grateful to be nominated by you. It is my rule not to pass on these posts to other bloggers who may not welcome them. However, I am more than happy to answer your questions in the comments here.

    1) I would go back to Ancient Rome, on the day of the inaugural games of The Coliseum. I have long been fascinated by Roman History, and the spectacle of their cruel games and gladiatorical contests. It would interest me to experience them first hand.
    2) Joseph Stalin.
    3) Retiring from work, and moving away from London in 2012.
    4) Procrastinating, Political, Kind.
    5) Learned to swim. When I was 5, I drowned in a river, and was resuscitated. Since then, I have had a great fear of water.

Best wishes, and thanks again for the nomination.
    Pete.
